Pastor Clarry W Gathers was born December 24 1951 in Grantham, N.C. She is the daughter of Rosenwald and the late Layuria A. Williams. She graduated from Forest Hill High School in Four Oaks N.C. and continued her education in Business Administration at Wayne Community College in Goldsboro, N.C. Pastor Clarry received an Associate degree from New Life Community School of Ministry and Bible Institue of Greensboro N.C.
Pastor Clarry embarked upon a career with Shiloh Service Center, where she was Coordinator for 15 years. She is now employed with the Johnston County Register of Deeds office as the Assistant Register of Deeds. Through her employment she has helped many people with Real Estate and Vital Records in which she is the supervisor.
She accepted her calling a Minister in April, 1996 under the leadership of the late Elder J.C. Murphy, Pastor of Hickory Grove Disciple of Christ Church.In 1998, along with her husband Apostle James Gathers, Jr., with the leadership of God, they started Total Praise Ministries, Inc of Smithfield N.C. Total Praise Ministries has flourished from five members to many. The ministry has been a training ground for many of the called.
A principle to which Pastor Clarry holds firmly, tithes is the primary source of monies for Total Praise family and to Trust God with all. She firmly believes that praise is her weapon.
Although the ministry occupies much of her time, Pastor Clarry is married to Apostle James Gathers, Jr. and a devoted mother and grandmother. Family is her first ministry.
She is also the organizer of the first Women Conference in Johnston County. She has ministered in Nursing homes and Assisted Living homes for over 12 years. In 2002, along with her husband , Apostle Gathers, they started a television ministry on the local station WARZ TV 34 in Smithfield, N.C. The program is "Real Talk Live" viewed every Friday night at 7 o'clock p.m.
